When you're riding a bike, you are the engine. Just like the engine in your car, if all your body parts are not perfectly balanced or don't move correctly, you will never reach your potential maximum performance.
Most bike fitters try to just fit the bike to the person, even if the person’s body is about as straight as a circle!!! The biomechanical assessment will identify the restriction in your body that can be corrected. Using soft tissue techniques, such as myofascial release and trigger pointing, to release the restrictions as well as exercises to strengthen any weak muscles, will get your body running straighter. Only then do we do a full bike fit to find the perfect position for your new body.
What’s benefit?
If your body run straighter, more power goes into the pedal plus less strain is put on your ligaments. This means more performance and you’re less likely to get injured.
But that’s not all!!!
As part of the biomechanical correction program, we’ll also address your posture on and off the bike. Modern office life leaves many people in a slouched posture all day long which is often transferred onto the bike. How can you breathe fully if you’re not opening up your chest fully? We’ll also give you exercises to increase your flexibility and strength. These are designed to not only increase your riding performance, but also correct the postural problems that occur from everyday life.
Not very flexible or new to road cycling? Try our progressive bike fit.
Are you not used to reaching the low bars of a road bike? No problem!!! We can set you in a position that is comfortable for you. Some restrictions take time to resolve and flexibility doesn’t happen overnight. Therefore, after each additional session, we make small changes to your bike position to take advantage of your straighter and more flexible body.
