Chris Houghton Owner Interview
What do you do when you're not cycling?
Until recently, I was CEO of OVO Energy Retail. Currently it's all about riding bikes.
What kind of riding do you do?
How did you find out about WyndyMilla?
In 2014 I signed up to do the London to Paris 24 hour challenge and was immersing myself in all things cycling. I saw some WyndyMilla club riders sporting their pink kit (how could you miss it!) and went straight home to investigate further. Straight away it seemed like something I wanted to be involved with.
What made you choose a WyndyMilla bike?
I wanted a bike that was unique and 100 percent customised to me. More than that though, I wanted to enjoy the ritual of the design and fitting process; to buy into the ethos of the business and to feel part of a local community of like minded people. Coming in to the shop and talking to the team about their passion for all things "custom" was infectious.
"I wanted something that no one else would have; the paintwork on my Saw Dr Road is a real talking point!"
How was your experience of the WyndyMilla journey?
I enjoyed working with the team - turning my thoughts in to a reality - and the final design blew me away. It very definitely felt like "my bike" and that I had been fully involved throughout the process. This "hand-holding" by the team continues to this day.
How is your WyndyMilla treating you now?
I have 3 WyndyMilla bikes now - a Saw Dr Road, Massive Attack All Road and a Massive Attack Track.
I love them all. Currently I'm riding the All Road the most; it's such a versatile and capable bike. However, my pride and joy will always be the Saw Dr - I love everything about owning and riding it.
